If Calgarians are going to act with a "Do what I want OR ELSE" attitude during this public hearing then honestly there is no point.
Consensus does not mean everyone agrees. It means everyone has been heard and acknowledged in a thoughtful manner.

And when Boys aren't like other boys? Bully them until they 'man up' and conform or kill themselves right? That's what the far right seems to want if you read people's comments nowadays.

Congratulations to @JeromyYYC on his win as the next Mayor of Calgary! This moment is significant. We have elected someone who emulates the lesson that sometimes a 'no' just means 'not at this moment'. We have also elected the first openly 2SLGBTQ+ Mayor of Calgary.

I want whomever is elected to City Council to stop fighting over social media, and stop outrage farming.
I want them to use social media but in a more positive way- to engage voters in what they are actively working on. NOT argue with fellow council members / admin. #yyccc

My friends, downtown Calgary is so bad for construction right now. As a home care nurse it is impossible to get around to my clients. Even if I was walking. I have had troubles with streets being closed accessibility. We need to do better. There needs to be A better strategy #yyc

Tried to talk to @Square about supporting a Pride Event - Got told what amazing rates they have and how my organization should sign up. But they don't support events. 👎

I wasn't aware right-wing accounts were struggling to understand that "the owners of Canada" are the people of Canada.
Here, I've attached a picture to make it easier for you to understand 🙂

There is no such thing as Alberta separation, only traitors that should pack their bags and move to the US. #cdnpoli #AlbertaSeparation

@ikwilson The natural resources of our land were only given to Alberta to develop in the early 1940s or whatever. They and the rights to develop them are held with The Government of Canada and Treaty 7 Nations - Alberta was made during confederation. We own nothing. We would get nothing

Alberta's current annual budget is $77 Billion. By leaving Canada, Alberta would have an additional $30 Billion annually to provide the few services delivered by the Federal Government.
The "economist" says Alberta would not be able to afford being an independent country because:
“Anything that is currently done by the federal government now would need to be done by the province of Alberta,” . . . “You need your own version of the RCMP, you’d have to have your own border control because you now have international borders.”
He adds Alberta would also need to fund its own national parks, passports, currency and central bank – all of which could take billions of dollars and decades to establish.
But what this "economist" gets wrong is that Alberta can do that for far less than the additional $30 Billion Alberta would have each year.
