@SirCatClips @yewfnet the skill is being able to capitalize on the tiny bits of luck you do get. In this case not just the luck of randomly getting 1 million views but the luck of getting 20 new views, or the luck of having 5 friends that want to watch you in the first place.

Idk who needs to hear this but the YT algorithm isn't pure luck. Some luck, maybe, but if a video or short doesn't perform very well the best thing you can do is research so you can learn/understand why. If one of my videos doesn't do well, there's a list of things-

@lyro_vt I will say that davinci has everything you need... you just kinda need to build it yourself sometimes, you could create a macro that has the outline and chroma keying and then pull it to the edit page, installing it on the effects tab pretty much getting easy access to the stuff

davinci resolve just took hours of my life bc I just find no easy way to chroma key something and then add an outline. not if you have 100 clips that need this effect. I really don't wanna do a long vid in premiere and learn that program bc DAVINCI DOESN'T EVEN HAVE BASIC SHIT

@yewfnet the attention span truly is a problem, my edits have become more and more heavily edited, to the point I'm feeling like it will lose retention if I have more than 2 seconds without something moving on screen. I swear it didn't use to be like this!!!

@yewfnet So I'd say that is pretty much about using all the tools available. Butttt, longform tends to create more connections between the viewer and the creator. Also I might be a little old but "in my time shorts weren't a thing" sure there was Vine but shorts are just different...

As much as I loooove to encourage people to try curated longform YouTube content to help with growth, not everyone has that kind of time. Though I have feelings about shorts as a medium degrading attention spans, they are an easy way to get some eyes on you if you do it right-

This is terrible advice. Short form content is currently one of the most efficient ways to promote yourself/your streams on multiple platforms. Forgoing shorts as a content creator is tantamount to shooting yourself in the foot.
