Why Borehole dey always win the long game: Water no dey everywhere like magic. Your ground fit get rock layers, wrong aquifer, or dropping water table. Hand-dug wells na shallow (usually 5–15m) — easy to pollute and dry up like Sahara desert. Borehole with proper Geophysical survey first? We map the exact sweet spot like detective (using science, not “by faith” guessing). Drill deeper to clean aquifer, use correct casing + pump. I don see plenty “fake drillers” turn people house into dry hole + wasted millions + family fight. Meanwhile, the community wey I serve last week: 3 dead hand pumps wey don suffer for years… today dem dey dance and fetch clean water free!

Your wife dey shout “This water dey smell like dead rat! Children dey fall sick, family peace scatter. Stone age technology in 2026 na real wahala! Poll: Borehole or Well — which one you get right now? A) Proper Borehole (solar or electric) B) Hand-dug Well (and suffering) C) Both — and e dey pain me D) None — I still dey fetch from stream

Is more than triple. Roughly 1.4m and above full package depending on the depth. Onitsha in Anambra you should be looking at 9 million and above similar to Nsukka , Abuja and Lagos is more cheaper although it depends on the terrain and the depth While cost of digging well may cost 100k to 150k

Well vs Borehole: Which is Better? In the world of property development and water management, choosing between a traditional well and a modern borehole usually comes down to three things: depth, water quality, and cost. While both tap into underground aquifers, they are engineered differently and suited for different terrains. 1. Traditional Hand-Dug Wells A traditional well is typically a wide-diameter hole (usually 3 to 4 feet wide) dug manually or with an excavator until it hits the water table. * Depth: Usually shallow, ranging from 10 to 30 feet. * Source: They collect "surface water" or water from the upper layers of the soil. Pros: * Lower initial installation cost. * Easier to maintain with simple tools. * Provides a large storage volume within the shaft itself. Cons: * Seasonality: Can dry up during intense heatwaves or dry seasons. * Contamination: High risk of runoff from septic tanks, fertilizers, or floods due to its shallow nature. * Labor: Manual digging is physically demanding and can be dangerous. 2. Boreholes A borehole is a narrow, deep hole (usually 4 to 10 inches wide) drilled using a specialized machine (rig). It is lined with high-quality PVC casing and often includes a submersible pump. * Depth: Can reach 100 to 1,500 feet or more, depending on the geology. * Source: Taps into deep-seated rock aquifers which provide a more consistent flow. Pros: * Reliability: Since it goes much deeper, it is rarely affected by seasonal weather changes. * Purity: Deep groundwater is naturally filtered by layers of rock, making it generally cleaner than surface water. * Space-saving: The footprint is very small, making it ideal for tight construction sites. Cons: * Higher Upfront Cost: Requires heavy machinery and technical expertise. * Power Dependent: Usually requires a constant electricity source (or solar) to run the submersible pump. Which one should you choose? If you are managing a professional construction project or a property where long-term water security is a priority, a borehole is almost always the superior investment. It offers better health safety and adds significantly more value to a property. However, if the water table in your area is exceptionally high and the budget is tight for a minor irrigation project, a well can be a functional, low-tech alternative. © BSAT Properties

@SirNich702 You're right However, the cost of sinking a borehole is beyond many homeowners' reach Hence, they make do with the more affordable well
