My dad, an old black, Zulu man from rural KZN, loved his very queer son without a shadow of doubt. Yey. It was crazy. My dad let me be myself so much so that others had to fall in line, or fuck off... 😭😭😭😭

In 1994, in Port Elizabeth, Alison Botha was approached by a man who asked for help near her car. When she unlocked it, he forced his way in at knifepoint and later picked up another man. They drove her to a remote area where she was raped, stabbed more than 30 times in the abdomen, and her throat was cut so severely about 16times ,it nearly decapitated her. Believing no one could survive that, they left her for dead. Despite her critical injuries, she did not lose consciousness. She realized she was still alive and made the decision to try to get help. She physically held her head with one hand and her stomach with the other as best as she could and slowly, painfully made her way toward the road. It took immense effort, but she managed to reach the roadside, where a passing driver saw her and stopped. She survived emergency surgery, testified in court, and both attackers received life sentences. One of the most extraordinary survival stories ever recorded.

Never you mind that I'll get it Wednesday next week (by your estimation), the fact that the ball isn't even rolling is what's concerning me. I'm so disappointed.

@Zue_Squared If the men from back in the day behaved accordingly, we wouldn't be here... And it's funny because the men of today seemingly haven't learnt anything and are, in actual fact, showing WHY the law had to intervene.

@Vumington According to the law, it is... There's court to argue the details if things go sour but as is, it's legally binding.

@_KayGee96 @leendoohuhle Since the late 90's even... But people are still not doing it correctly (talking about prenup/setting their finances in a way that satisfies them) then they point fingers. 🤷‍♂️

@nembuIa We had a dog back home that did something like that. After my brother died, we honestly couldn't take care of it and on the way to my paternal grandparents' homestead with my uncle, it escaped 2 towns away and found it's way back to us. We were so defeated.

Bruh, my uncle dropped off a dog he didn’t want at his friend’s house last Saturday which is 40kms away from where he lives. A day later, the friend says the dog escaped when he opened the gate. Today, my aunt asked unc to look at what’s at the gate and that he mustn’t have a heart attack. Jackie is outside chilling brah. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

@hmsouthafrica I didn't get to buy anything. I'm so bummed. Last year I got jeans, t-shirts, undies etc. I saw jeans on sale at Superbalist but not in-store. Quite disappointed. 😭

@hmsouthafrica I'm not sure if it was just the Richards Bay store or was it all South African stores that had a terrible, terrible black Friday sale this time around. There was only a few items on sale this time around. Not one single pair of jeans or different stuff like last year.

@Nomz_Rozay I think he was saying that from their (mums family) perspective, not that he was saying his opinion.

@intpgemz @blanks_sj Hives, and they can be caused by myriad of factors including both physical and physiological, which I find fascinating. I've been a victim of both but the ones that were caused by stress were more severe. Feet were swollen, big lump in my throat. Prednisone definitely helped!

@MsPrue @PhilMphela In Zulu malume is also for the maternal side although it can used to show respect to any other non-relative (older) male, but the proper definition is mother's brother. His wife is then malumekazi.

@PhilMphela Now if only script writers would learn the proper pronouns for family members when they do a show. Malome ka Setswana is for maternal males please dear people. Rakgadi’s husband is called Rakgadi. And so forth. Thank you for coming to my hijacked Ted talk.

@SisMbali__ My dad was the same. Ate whatever we made, no complaints, and he did his own laundry despite our attempts to help 😂😭. I genuinely have never met such a chill guy. Even when mum sometimes got too much, he was always level, never moody/sulky. 🥲

I love how my husband doesn’t ask a lot of questions about meals 😂 If it’s 7 colours he will eat and enjoy. If it’s boerewors rolls on a random weekday he will also eat and enjoy without questions. He takes whatever I have the capacity to give and I really appreciate that 🥹❤️
