@hann58445 @valuehurts I am spreading my bets over a few. BDW have a huge, huge land bank. Things won't improve under this government but going to dollar cost average myself in over the next 3 years, next government in will have to get this countries housing market moving.

@Sitetoolkit @valuehurts I'm going with best of best at mo with Barrett Redrow, I estimate they are trading 70% below NAV. Their merger has created a monster, great quality new builder, also aligned with government stimulus. Bought Redrow for like £2.5B, almost that's priced as free now.

Looking at Reckitt-Benckiser $RKT.L here. Big disappointment over the last few years with mead Johnson write-off. Decent 4.7% forward yield with no withholding for foreign investors, decent valuation peg 1 fy2028, emerging market exposure driving growth over the long term. Most brands are captains in their sector. Looks like a similar setup as 1999/2000 stock dropped 50% then ran for 13 years during an EM & commodity up-cycle.

@valuehurts I'm eyeing up UK housebuilders at mo aswell, we've got a shite government but very cheap, loads of construction firms going under and house builders snatching up discounted land whilst paying 6%+ divs

5 key things to check before pouring footings - Correct width & depth - Clean trench formation - Suitable bearing ground - Reinforcement installed correctly - Safe access & stable excavations Get the foundations right first time — everything else sits on top of it

Dust suppression isn’t about ticking boxes — it’s about protecting people. If you can see dust travelling across site, you’ve already lost control of it. Water suppression, extraction, good housekeeping, and proper RPE make all the difference.”

A big part of being a good project manager is problem solving. Your job is to remove obstacles before they become delays.

One of the easiest ways to improve quality on site? Stop trades working on top of each other. Too many defects come from: 🔹 Rushed areas 🔹 Poor access 🔹 Constant interruptions 🔹 Following trades damaging finished work Good sequencing saves time, money, and arguments

Site standards are set long before the NHBC visit. If materials are everywhere, access is poor, and plots aren’t ready — quality will suffer. Well-organised sites produce better workmanship, safer working, and fewer defects. Good sites don’t happen by accident.

Quick site tip; Walk your plots at the end of the day — not just the start. - Is it left safe? - Is it tidy? - Is tomorrow’s work set up? A good finish today = a better start tomorrow. #Construction #SiteManager #SiteSetup #BuildBetter

Key tip; Make sure the area is set up properly before the trade starts: - Clear access - Materials ready - No clashes with other trades - Safe, tidy workspace Good setup = best chance for good workmanship. Give them the right start… they’re far more likely to leave it right

According to HSE, most construction injuries come from: - Slips, trips & falls ~30% - Manual handling ~17% - Struck by objects ~10% - Falls from height ~8% (biggest killer) Be as visual as possible with your checks. Most risks aren’t hidden — they’re right in front of you

According to NHBC, 80% of reported issues come from just a few areas - Finishes (decorating, sealant, joinery) - Services (plumbing + electrics) - External envelope (roofing, brickwork) Prevention: ✔️ Don’t rush 2nd fix ✔️ Proper trade sequencing ✔️ Check work before sign off

Dust control isn’t just housekeeping — it’s health protection. Cutting, grinding, sweeping = airborne risk. - Use water suppression - Fit dust extraction to tools - Wear correct RPE (not just any mask) - Don’t dry sweep — damp it down #Construction #SiteSafety #DustControl #HSE

Site Managers: If you didn’t check the scaffold after last night’s wind… You’ve got no idea if it’s safe. “Looks fine from the ground” isn’t an inspection. Lifted boards. Loose rails. Missing ties. All hidden — until someone steps on it. Are you checking… or assuming?

Walked a plot this morning that was “ready for handover”… Snag list said otherwise 👀 • Door binding • Mastic missing • Reveal out of square 5 mins with a square + snagging eye = saved a future complaint. Don’t rush the finish. That’s what people remember.
