I still don't get the point of trying to sign a higher deal then the minimum for Dame he wants to be on a contender.

Any Celtics fan who disagrees with adding Lillard to the roster is foolish. Given that his salary is basically already paid, acquiring him would be a low-risk, high-reward move. Yes, we don’t know how he would look after the Achilles injury and his age, but if he comes back even 50% of what he used to be, that is a huge win for Boston.
