@Curryb0ii 2. People are often taught to pick a string, whereby the finger first rests on the string, then they pick through it. If this is you, instead start the pick movement from in front of the string, not touching it, and immediately play through it. so finger contact is more fleeting
@SixStringsTV Firstly, really appreciate your reply. It's the latter, with my right hand I'm consistently going ring, middle, index (I know you use your thumb too). I've noticed it only seems to happen as I try and speed up.
@SixStringsTV I've been watching your videos, trying to figure out how to eliminate harmonics when playing fingerstyle on a distorted electric guitar. My 16th notes sound good clean, no nails, and the harmonic is coming in on the string I'm playing on not from another string.
@Curryb0ii Two possible solutions, 1. Nodes are set up more easily at certain positions eg. You can play the harmonic easily touching the 12th fret, but 13th or 14th frets are more likely to mute, so experiment with picking hand position up and down the string.
@Curryb0ii It's a problem that pick player get too. Your finger or pick comes into contact with the string and sets up a node (much like touching the string at the 12th fret, for harmonics). In fact pick players have it worse because the hard surface of the pick can behave like a fret too.
@TkJamTracks I'm looking to do some guitar lessons covering improvising over the Altered Scale. I see you've created some great backing tracks. Do you mind me using them in my videos? (I'll attribute and link to them so people can visit your content to use them too).
@KenBane1@YouTube Its one of those things that feels impossible, then just somehow clicks into place. Then you frustratingly lose it as quick as it came, but over time it sticks. Like a lot of this stuff, being consistent is what wins in the end.
@KenBane1@YouTube It's deceptively tough if you just use the pitches, especially if you haven't done any ear training in the past. But if you do a little bit every day, you'd be surprised at how easily it comes.
@SixStringsTV I just realized the link in your original message is for "guitar-scales dot com". Your youtube video is for "guitar-charts dot com". I can get to the one in your youtube video.
youtu.be/PazsoJawbBs I've just launched a new website guitar-scales.com Its still a bit rough and ready, but the main functionality is there, see the video for a demo, and let me know how you get on!
@ampmods Thats irritating, I set the DNS up today, so I wonder if it needs some more time to propogate. If you don't mind, let me know if it still has that problem in a day or so.
