The chances of your child needing to call a parent about an active shooter pale in comparison to kids failing school due to the distraction of cell phones. I’m 100 percent opposed to cell phones in school. Also, it’s the school’s responsibility to reinforce the school against active shooters so focus on that being done.

This mother received a text from her son that their was an active shooter at his school. She called her husband who had their young daughter with him and had just left and he came back home. He went inside and grabbed his weapon and headed to the school. Dad was on his way to save everyone's babies not just his own. This is why my kids will always have their phones in school. They need to be able report an emergency and be able to get a hold of mom and dad at a moment's notice. Can't imagine getting that text from one of my kids. Sad that families have to deal with this madness. We know cell phones can be a distraction and be bad but do you think kids should be allowed to have their cell phones at all times, if not for this very reason right here?
