Credit where it's due, but Hasbro UK have listened to folks and have lowered the price of the Seeker Storm Pack from £169.99 to £139.99, which is far more palatable. They got that change right.

@GMcHorseman That's a different character. These names have existed for over 4 decades & that example has been used many times since 1986 As for Takara, they're not trying to appeal to Americans — they're making a product for their domestic audience based on a Japanese anime/vintage toy line

@SixoTF It's a nice sculpt. Galvatron is a cannon. Not a dragon or dinosaur. The handgun villain reincarnated as a cannon. Takara *does not* understand why the American toy line worked.

I say this not lightly, but I don't think any Transformers toy announced in 2026 has me *as* excited as TakaraTomy New Legends Galvatron. Massive pink dragons FTW! Here's everything you need to know about it — and a bit more --> LINK BELOW Will you get this guy?

@SixoTF I think I am confused. Where is this year coming from? The order period is 43 days and this releases in October.

Genuinely not getting the problem with this made-to-order business. You want it, you order it — simple You don't even have to pay for *over a year* until it ships I actually think this is a really good move and I'm very supportive if it means more niche ideas being made real

@FrancisCermak They’re exceptionally niche - they’re blink and you miss them background characters from a 40yo cartoon. That’s the very definition of niche

@SixoTF These figures aren’t “niche.” We’ve gotten them in the last three toy waves.

@FrancisCermak @Cr210 Yeah, it is a separate conversation entirely. It being a 4-pack has nothing to do with it being MTO. They’ve been doing 4-packs at retail for ages, like it or not (and plenty don’t)

@SixoTF @Cr210 It’s NOT a separate conversation. The two issues are intrinsically entwined. They’re forcing you to get figures you may not want.

See now this — this is the real pisstake Folks in the UK have become accustomed to just being charged the numerical equivalent of the US price already — so $25 becomes £25, just because — but the hike here is another level

So yes, the MTO thing is good — but that pricing sucks

Someone inevitably always points out that the US has tax on top (unlike the UK) — but even in the states with the highest tax brackets, $25 would become $28 at most, whereas £25 is roughly $33.50 The Seeker set (at most) is $165 with tax versus over $225-230 equivalent in the UK

@BeauColenso @ToyboxSoapbox Even in the highest state tax brackets, you'd be looking at about maybe $15 at most — so roughly $165, not $225+

@ToyboxSoapbox keep in mind that the uk price includes tax whiles the us prices doesnt

The price difference for the UK is utterly bonkers. We are having to pay almost $80 more. Insane.

@renkencen Yeah, I get it - but as you say, that’s a factor with regular retail, too. It’s available for a window but then often hard to get hold of if it’s something desirable. At least here, people can say they want it and they have a full year + to save the cash

@SixoTF While I agreed the MTO is a good thing (they would shelfwarm in retail like Big Convoy and the Bumper 4 pack atm in Smyth) but what if you wanted it a year later? Would you pay for scalper price! Yes it's like that anyway buy they sometime they get a PR like Nova Prime for eg.

@Cr210 That's a separate conversation though. I don't much like four of the same mould being bundled either — but the made to order nature of it isn't the problem in that case. In any case, I am sure there will be people who want the other characters in the set

@SixoTF i don’t wanna pay 205€ on a 4 pack just because they refuse to give more options, i only want Acidstorm and will never be able to buy it

Honestly think it's way more preferable than a Haslab where you have like 6 weeks to scrounge up a big payout

Nothing is stopping you from splitting the pack or whatever The only real downside is it'll probs end up limited quantity and not on discount — but that's reflective of demand. The key thing is if you want it, you have a year to save for it
