A 12-year-old child became one of India’s youngest martyrs in the freedom struggle 🇮🇳🙏 A boy who should have been playing with toys, stood fearlessly against the guns of the British Empire. This is the story of Baji Rout — the brave son of Odisha. On the night of October 11, 1938, on the banks of the Brahmani River, British policemen ordered young Baji to ferry them across. They expected fear. They expected obedience. Instead, they saw courage beyond his age. Baji refused. “You are the enemies of my country. I will not help you.” Enraged, the officers attacked him. But the young revolutionary still did not step back. Moments later, bullets were fired… and the 12-year-old child fell to the ground. But that night, something far greater was born. Baji Raut became immortal in the history of India’s freedom struggle. At an age when most children fear punishment, he stood against an empire with nothing but patriotism and bravery in his heart. His story reminds us that courage has no age. ❤️🇮🇳 Salute to this fearless young martyr whose sacrifice continues to inspire generations. #BajiRaut #YoungestMartyr #IndianFreedomStruggle #India #OdishaPride #RealHero #JaiHind 🇮🇳

When rain falls, most of it disappears into drains. But in one district, it began flowing back into the earth. IAS officer Prathap M, the son of a farmer from Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, grew up understanding the value of water. As the first graduate in his family, he once cycled kilometres to school with a dream of serving society. Years later, that dream took shape through a simple but powerful idea. Instead of sealing abandoned borewells, his administration converted over 1,200 unused borewells into rainwater-harvesting recharge structures, allowing monsoon water to seep back into underground aquifers. The result was visible after just one monsoon. Groundwater levels reportedly rose by 5 to 10 feet in several areas, helping revive wells and support farming communities. Sometimes, saving water does not require new resources. It requires reimagining what already exists. #WaterConservation #RainwaterHarvesting #GroundwaterRecharge [IAS officer Prathap M, rainwater harvesting, abandoned borewell conversion, water conservation, Tamil Nadu]

When Hindu & Sikh females choose to save their dignity rather than saving their lives.. First they too bullets … Once they ran out of bullets .. They ate poison.. Once poison was exhausted They ate the glass pieces.. Once glass was exhausted… They jumped in to the nearby well … But ensured none of them is captured by the raiders from pakxtan. All this happened on 11-12 November 1947, when whole India was celebrating first Diwali after Independence , at the same time thousands of Hindus & Sikhs were being massacred in Rajouri city of Jammu & Kashmir. More than 30 thousand Hindus & Sikhs were killed on the streets in Rajouri, one of the most horrific massacres in Indian history. Women jumped into the well to save their lives or died by consuming poison. All this continued till the night of 12 April 1948, and on the morning of 13 April, a new dawn came and when the #IndianArmy ended the terror by recapturing Rajouri town. This is the lesser known history of Rajouri Day which is being celebrated today. #RajouriDay

Swami Shivananda A life that truly deserves honour… In a world chasing comfort, he chose simplicity and lived it with unmatched grace. For over a century, his life was rooted in yoga, discipline, and inner peace. He spoke little, yet his actions echoed louder than words. Every breath he took reflected dedication, every step carried purpose.

Colonel Navjot Singh Bal, Shaurya Chakra, of the Indian Army’s elite 2 Para (Special Forces), was the embodiment of courage, resilience, and leadership. A decorated Special Forces officer who faced terrorists in close combat, he later fought a relentless battle against a rare and aggressive cancer with the same indomitable spirit. Even after losing his right arm, he continued to command his unit, adapt to every challenge, and inspire his men till his final days. An NDA alumnus commissioned in 2002, Colonel Bal distinguished himself early in his career through excellence in operations, leadership, and adventure. He was awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his bravery during counter-insurgency operations in Kupwara, where he eliminated terrorists at point-blank range. He also served in a UN mission in Congo and played a role in operational planning at Northern Command, including during the 2016 surgical strikes. In 2018, while commanding 2 Para (SF), he was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer. Despite chemotherapy and the amputation of his right arm, he continued to lead from the front—training, motivating, and setting an example of unmatched determination. His empty sleeve became a symbol of courage for his troops. Colonel Bal passed away on 9 April 2020 at the age of 39, leaving behind his wife and two sons. His life remains a powerful reminder of the Indian Army’s highest values—duty, sacrifice, and the never-say-die spirit. #IndianArmy #SpecialForces #ShauryaChakra #RealHero #SaluteTheBrave
