Now that I have cold, joyless, LED bulbs, I have to purchase another device plus a heat lamp where I once used incandescent bulbs. There is no net savings. Consumers should have a choice. They banned incandescent bulbs because we were not making the “right“ choice.

Did the geniuses that banned incandescent light bulbs to save the earth think about disposal. Apparently not. Incandescent can go in the landfill. Other types pollute the environment with lead, arsenic, mercury, and other heavy metals. How does this help?

the hype about LED bulbs lasting 20 times longer is meaningless. If you analyze sales of bulbs, they last only 2 to 4 times as long. So our feeling that we were paying more for lightbulbs isn’t just a feeling. are paying 5 to 10 X more than incandescent.

According to AI, the number of light sockets allotted to each person is the same as it has always been. The actual sales of LED bulbs compared to previous sales of incandescent bulbs that people purchased 2 to 4 times as many incandescent bulbs.

Why is the government forcing me to use environmentally dangerous, blue light emitting, led bulbs? Don’t I get to make my own decision on how much I want to spend on energy, and if I want warm bulbs?

@secretaryTurner Can you do anything to bring back safe, warm, cheap incandescent bulbs? Those other kinds are environmental hazards, filled with heavy metals. Besides that they cost more and emit blue light.

@naomirwolf I drive a 1995 Nissan pickup that I have had since 2000. Manual transmission. No electric locks or windows. Almost zero maintenance in 25 years.

I bought a second hand 2009 Prius four years ago. A friend misplaced the electronic key. Cost me $2000 to get the entire dashboard removed and the computer system that deals with the electronic key upgraded. The car had sat for a while without the battery being used. Mechanic told me it would cost 4-5k to replace the hybrid battery. This whole time I owned it I felt so good about helping to save the planet. The repairs of the high tech systems are worth more than the car now so I had to give it away to save the cost of towing. With the new digital surveillance in autos our subjection will be complete. An old school fossil fuel engine and a metal car key give you far more power, privacy and autonomy.
