A few of the three hundred crocodile mummies were discovered in the vicinity of the Temple of Kom Ombo in the Aswan Governorate. The temple was built during the Ptolemaic dynasty between 180–47 BCE, and the crocodile mummies are now on display at the Crocodile Museum, Egypt
