Snowboarder stuck on gondola at heavenly mountain overnight. A spokesperson for the resort vowing to investigate how this occurred, and will take measures to make sure it never happens again! @skiheavenly

At approximately 9:30am today at Palisades Tahoe, an avalanche occurred on the Palisades side, specifically above the GS gully area of KT-22. Our Patrol and mountain operations teams are performing a search at this time. Both sides of our mountain will be closed for the day.

Kirkwood is considered South Lake Tahoe and is about an hour from Heavenly. They received 15 in. of new snow from the latest storm. While they have beginner and intermediate runs, the mountain is more geared toward advanced skiers with challenging terrain
