If MTK TPU succeeds, SMTC is a 2-4x from here. If MTK TPU fails, SMTC is a 1.5-2x from here. SMTC CTLE can give 4-7 dB SNR gain. ~300G SerDes at PAM6 has 4-5 dB SNR penalty from theory. MTK would need 2-4 dB improvement in design + CPC + SMTC CTLE + good EMIB pkg to make it.

@citrini Of course you post this right after I sell most of my $HLIT position. That’s okay though, had to make a lot of difficult decisions as I’m cutting back on margin.

Close to a 4x on $BAND now since we highlighted it in our agentic utilities primer I have been trying to stick with bigger companies but sometimes the small ones are just too compelling. $HLIT looking pretty interesting now too on cOS platform (as AI usage moves from occasional chatbot queries to persistent agents, multimodal streaming, home/work inference traffic, edge devices, automated enterprise workflows, etc etc…broadband networks need more upstream capacity, lower latency, better quality-of-service and cheaper network operations).

The speed at which information travels through the markets it odd. If a big account even mentions a ticker - a move will be priced in within minutes. There was very clear cut news on $FCEL that could be independently verified that was out days ago. Even smart people that are on X all the time were just picking it up today. I am not sure if that particular bit of info has been fully picked up on even now. My working theory is that it's kind of random how long it takes something to be disseminated. If I see an obvious piece of news that has no reaction, my general rule is to give it 1 to 2 weeks to get around.

Researching $OUST and checked out their HQ given the recent trend. I was a little disappointed. For a next-gen LiDAR company, I expected more than what looks like an abandoned two-story building. Not thesis-breaking, but definitely not what I expected Employee count is 200
