Each week, we see a well-oiled machine that does MMA better than anyone in history: the UFC. So anytime there’s something different, it feels off. It’s really hard to come out of the gates, put on a show like that, and immediately be compared to a company with the legacy of the UFC. I’m just happy that we have something new to talk about. I haven’t seen this type of chatter — the comparisons, the fighting, the arguing — since Strikeforce in 2011. That felt refreshing. Even though I thought some of the takes were absolutely absurd, the fact that we’re even able to have these discussions is great.
