@grantcohn I’m confident that a healthy Ricky that can play a full season will be a 1,000 yard receiver in the 49ers offense. PCL injuries really hamper the ability to cut and show off extremely athleticism. In the small sample size where he’s been marginally healthy, he’s been awesome

People keep writing off Ricky Pearsall because he didn't bounce back immediately from a PCL injury last season, even though the same injury ended Christian McCaffrey's season in 2024. Makes no sense.

Brock Purdy is one of one. Not sure he has a great comp. He’s Brock Purdy. Doesn’t have great arm talent or size, but smart, anticipates super well, and is very mobile. Accuracy is good, not excellent. Runs the offense well. Good leader. Grinder. Composed.

@NFLFrascella Arm strength between the two is comparable, Mac doesn’t have a huge arm. The key different behind the O-Line is Purdy is elite avoiding pressure and extending plays. Brock just needs to make some better decisions, gain his timing back on a few throws and it’s then better option

Here’s a nuanced take on Brock Purdy His mobility is a huge asset, and his ability to avoid pressure is elite. At the same time, his passer rating when he holds the ball longer than 2.5 seconds this season is 51.7. He’s at his best when he’s Boring Brock and he gets rid of the ball quickly. He gets in trouble when he tries to be Playmaker Purdy. The more Brock plays like Mac, the better.
