Reaching orbit on the maiden flight of a new launch vehicle is extraordinarily rare. Even SpaceX, which went on to redefine the global space industry—and continues to inspire us—reached orbit on its fourth attempt. A powerful reminder of just how hard this is, and why Vikram-1 reaching orbit on its very first flight means so much to all of us. Despite a zillion ways a rocket can fail- 1000’s of complex systems in Vikram-1 worked like clockwork for the very first time in real flight to make this possible. More than 95% of people at @SkyrootA never worked on any space mission before and their average age is 28. It’s just Freshness, Passion and Grit that made them the scientists and engineers that launched a rocket to orbit in the very first attempt.
