Vitalik, the founder of Bittorent (@bramcohen), created the @chia_project, which could be a basic tool for preserving the principles of decentralization. But the community and I believe they need help, primarily financial. They are forced to sell pre-farmed coins ($XCH) to pay their developers, which puts pressure on the coin's price. In turn, the low price of the coin affects the engagement and motivation of farmers, who determine the project's degree of decentralization. And, of course, it's declining without sufficient funding in such a difficult market: xch.farm/compressed-net… They also have technical errors that led to the collapse of the Nakamoto coefficient, but Bram Cohen plans to address this issue with a major update soon: xch.farm/decentralizati… CEO @hoffmang has chosen the tactic of "We're doing fine, we're selling pre-farm coins to Americans," instead of establishing communication with current market leaders, like you, and finding a solution, instead of mindlessly withdrawing any liquidity: xch.ninja Perhaps you can help them, if not financially, then perhaps provide valuable recommendations on how to proceed in the current situation? One metaphor for Ethereum is BitTorrent, and how that p2p network combines decentralization and mass scale. Ethereum's goal is to do the same thing but with consensus. Another metaphor for Ethereum is Linux. * Linux is free and open source software, and does not compromise on this * Linux is quietly depended on by billions of people and enterprises worldwide. Governments regularly use it. * There are many operating systems based on Linux that pursue mass adoption * There are Linux distributions (eg. Arch) that are highly purist, minimalistic and technologically beautiful, and focus on making the user feel powerful, not comfortable (Actually, BitTorrent is depended on by enterprises too: many businesses and even governments (!!) use it to distribute large files to their users makeuseof.com/tag/8-legal-us… ) We must make sure that Ethereum L1 works as the financial (and ultimately identity, social, governance...) home for individuals and organizations who want the higher level of autonomy, and give them access to the full power of the network without dependence on intermediaries. At the same time, what Linux shows is that this is fully compatible with providing value to very large numbers of people, and even being loved and trusted by enterprises worldwide. Many enterprises in fact desperately want to build on an open and resilient ecosystem - what we call trustlessness, they call prudent counterparty risk minimization. This is the gwei.

Today marks the end of my journey as a contributor to the @lineabuild team! (click to continue reading my farewell essay…) My time working as an ecosystem leader at Linea taught me one thing. The most important dapps of the future will fully abstract the chain experience and be interoperable. The question I kept asking myself was how to attract those projects to our network. My next role is at just such an application, which will onboard a large audience of net-new users to our ecosystem. We desperately need to break beyond the echo chamber and I’m thrilled to be joining a leading project that will do exactly that, and hopefully a lot faster with me on board ;) When @Halxyz was acquired by @Consensys at the end of 2022, I was surprised to find myself back in a large company. Consensys has been a great workplace and very supportive of all my quirks. One of my favorite things at this company was listening to @ethereumjoseph delivering his town hall sermons. I was already hardcore cryptopilled by the time I arrived, but Joe’s vision for the future of Ethereum is orders of magnitude beyond what I ever considered. I await with bated breath for some of the new Consensys strategies to be unveiled. Regarding Linea, I found a home both with the team and the ecosystem. It has been an honor and privilege to work here alongside you. I will probably write a book about the Linea Network someday. For the next generation of development, I think Linea will be the de facto L2 for any company who wants to build on Ethereum. It is Ethereum, down to its very bytecode, down to the chain ID. The tech and research teams are close to unlocking massive scale on blockspace, network decentralization… and there are some other eye-popping ideas currently being vetted. Suffice to say, I remain a Linea bull and expect to see the technology be adopted by great companies around the world. But as a spiritual man, I am compelled by the bhavachakra. I must take another spin on the wheel of life. I am delighted to be joining an early-stage startup again and do all of the fast-moving, high-risk startupy things.
