I know we all went “oh my god he knows about Sylus” the first time we watched this scene but I want to look at the bigger picture. This scene itself revealed that Caleb has kept tabs on the MC during the months he was “dead”, he was confirmed to be on a Deepspace Tunnel mission when everything from LAR to PTT occurred, he likely still kept tabs on her during that time. Caleb’s immediate question for her being as to what she was doing in the N109 Zone likely wasn’t because of his concern with Onychinus but rather due to Gaia Biotech Research Centre. Gaia is still a running research hub in the N109 Zone in the current timeline, the very place where Caleb and the MC were repeatedly exploited throughout their childhood spent as test subjects. I can’t imagine the immense fear he must’ve felt that the one time he had to force himself to stay away from her due to a greater purpose, she had gone down to the very side of the city where their hell was spent, and on top of that N109 zone’s fields are so advanced that tracking devices cannot be used to detect someone and therefore MC was basically missing for a short period of time, at least for him. So I wonder if his immediate thought process was, “did she forget about me again?” When she came back in one piece and went on about her daily life before she infiltrated the fleet. (And yes I’m back to my Caleb yapping posts)
