I work as a consultant cardiologist in a large tertiary centre providing care over 1 million people. ➡️ There are 30 of us, and 70% of Cardiologists in my unit including myself are either immigrants themselves or the sons and daughters of immigrants ➡️ many of my colleagues are Muslims who provide care to you and your families ➡️ whilst a minority are out rioting, flashing Nazi signs beating up people of colour many of whom look after their families- including their elderly relatives- the majority of the good people of UK are sickened by these individuals who do not represent us as a country. The most dangerous grift in ophthalmology right now is “glasses are harmful.” People that claim diet, exercise, and a 10 part instructional webinar can help you live spectacle free! No. Stop it. It’s not a big deal for most adults. They will lose some money before realizing that no amount of exercise and bull testicle consumption will fix their presbyopia. But those same adults have kids. If young kids don’t get the glasses they need, their brains won’t develop normal vision. I’m talking permanent vision loss. I have seen it happen. It’s awful and entirely preventable.

Very happy to present our latest preprint @NCCRMicrobiomes @DMF_UNIL in collaboration with @simon_vanvliet. @PignonEstelle engineered uptake and leakage rates in communities of E. coli amino acid auxotrophs and studied the effects on spatial arrangement and composition.
