Wanna know why im so defensive of Kanye West? The Situation with Kanye, to me, represents a bigger problem. The support for the mentally unwell appears conditional. When it gets ugly, people suddenly chop it up to them just being evil. When it gets ugly, People just assume the person behind it is ugly, forever ugly. To me that isnt acceptable. Kanye has done so much outside of his episode, so much good through his music and with his money, with his power. and people are just flanderizing him to what happened in that cascading manic episode. I cant sit back and just accept that, especially with my bouts with mental health. The hatred Kanye gets, to me, reflects that people dont care for the neurodivergent. For the disabled. Does that make sense?
