@profbrucehood Are you ok @profbrucehood ? I assume you’re being trite and you actually of course understand that vegans choose this lifestyle to reduce harm and animal abuse caused by the industrialisation of the farming in the UK

If you are vegan or vegetarian, is it OK to eat figs? Once you know that figs are inverted flowers that are fertilized by the fig wasp that crawls inside, dies and then is absorbed by the fig, then it does make you wonder. Another dilemma for #essentialism

@HiveHomeUK @JonDMack Ours isn’t working now either, perpetual spinning wheel of doom

@profbrucehood @ADHDUKcharity Let’s keep listening to those with lived experience, this is emerging and open minds are key.

@Slanerlaner @ADHDUKcharity Profiteering is not the basis of my argument. Mine is the problem of diagnosis and concept creep as stated. So yes we must agree to disagree.
English

Neurodiversity... What exactly does that mean? If you look at our current understanding of the neuroscience, then one must question whether this category makes any sense. I am sure a diagnosis is transformative for those who feel different and we need to recognize and accept diversity but my worry is that we are medicalizing normal behaviour to difficult situations. I worry we are heading down the 'learning styles' road

@profbrucehood @ADHDUKcharity Being concerned and open minded is fine, I think your tone came across conclusive and defensive. Peope are always going to make money out of things, that is sadly the way of the world but not a basis for an argument to challenge the growing acceptance of neurodiversity.
English

@Slanerlaner @ADHDUKcharity Thanks Sarah, a good piece but I remain concerned that the movement is problematic as concept creep has broadened so much that the category has lost its way. Not to mention that so many are making money out of it.

We opened the doors of the mosque a week after protesters came outside, and we invited them to come and talk with us.
The event went amazingly well, some of those who protested were here, in addition to many other curios members of our society.
We were asked tough questions about women's rights, the Prophet's ﷺ wives, and sharia law amongst many other topics and we gave honest answers.
We made many new friends and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
