It's been a really nice time coming back to the series and playing them the way I'll enjoy them rather then trying to emulate everyone else. There's so much more to appreciate about the series beyond how technical it is. Or how long that combo can be. And I'm happy to do that

Been thinking about it for a bit. DMC 3 really is just one of the best games ever made. Obviously the gameplay is fantastic. But it never skipped out on anything else either. I don't just come back for the combat I come back for the story, the visuals, the soul in every detail.

Ichigo is one of the most ass-written MCs in anime. Yes, he inherited powers from almost every major race in Bleach, but that's not my issue. My question is: how much of his journey was actually his own choice? Most great protagonists have a dream, a clear ambition, or a goal they're constantly chasing. Even average shonen series give their MCs that. Yet Ichigo mostly reacts to the events around him instead of pursuing a personal dream and Bleach is still considered one of the Big Three....

That's....not what Eva is about. Eva is about peoples desire to connect but their trauma prevents them from doing so. The hedgehog dilemma, hurt people who are lonely yearning for connection but scared to be open and vulnerable, and end up hurting each other more in the process. This is literally the entire theme of the show for every major character. It's about the nature of being human and the suffering thats inherent to that experience.
