You know my only question I ask a kid when he or their parents ask me about playing multiple sports? I look at the kid and say “you already know the answer. Do you WANT to play?” If they say yes…play. If they say “not really I enjoy playing (sport) and want to do that year round” I tell them that’s a great decision. Both sides of this argument are full of crap. They both come from a selfish mindset. Which is natural 🤷‍♂️. It’s not a knock. It’s opinion based on a perspective. Plenty of highly successful athletes have played multiple and plenty have specialized. Chances are you are not getting money for playing. Let’s be honest. So do what YOU want to do and the adults around that athlete should support it. Just my opinion!

A flaw in all this commotion about multi-sport is assuming that HS is their only season. Our soccer kids go right from school soccer into club and it can last until late July. These same kids go out for hoops or track and miss 50% b/c of club.
