This bill requires age verification to work. There is no way to work around an age cutoff, this one being 17, without knowing who is and isn't that age. That means it requires age verification.

BREAKING: The Senate has unanimously passed COPPA 2.0 – the Children and Teen’s Online Privacy and Protection Act. This bill EXPANDS the current law protecting our kids online to ensure companies cannot collect personal information from anyone under the age of 17. This is really important to protect kids online. When I was Majority Leader, we passed this bill with bipartisan support as part of a package that passed 91-3. Sadly, House Republicans blocked it. This is a very good day for Kids and their parents, as well, who can breathe a sigh of relief that some real protections for kids online is finally passing the Senate once again. I’m glad the Senate has passed COPPA 2.0 again, and this time the House needs to finish the job and pass this bill swiftly and decisively.

From Reddit UK legal advice today Ofcom are continuing to make complete fools of themselves. They won't get people with small sites overseas complying with their ridiculous demands of ID verification. It's likely they will look to start IP blocking hundreds, or maybe even thousands of overseas sites.

what you need to understand about black rock:
blackrock’s entire business model is to buy everything on earth so they can control it.
real estate, corporations, farmland, infrastructure.
all of it.
they hold virtually nothing in cash reserves because every dollar gets deployed
that was fine when everything was going up.
but now that markets look topped and investors are more uncertain than they’ve been in years people want their money back…
problem is when everyone wants out at the same time and you’re holding assets not cash you have to liquidate.
and when blackrock liquidates it doesn’t just move markets it crashes them
that’s why they’re freezing withdrawals.
they literally can’t cover them without selling and selling at this scale would tank everything they own
if this unwinds the way it could things are about to get very ugly very fast

Sorry not sorry but you can't get upset that people are bringing up defending porn when it comes to age verification and digital IDs when almost every argument being used by govts is that we need surveillance to stop "children from seeing porn". Like its very relevant.
