The Pinnacle is MUCH bigger than anything else in Oak Hill. So, when I saw the question “What’s the history behind the ACC pinnacle campus?” I heard some wealthy dude built it in the 80s and lived on the top story," I knew I had to find the answer. kut.org/austin/2022-11…

If you want to go see them, try going at dusk or dawn. These are their most active times. Right now, the goats are on Barker-Steward Island near the pedestrian bridge.

I also found out this is the third year Wausau has brought the goats in. The goats will be here for about three weeks. It could be a little more or less depending on how fast they eat.

wsaw.com/2023/07/06/wau… Yesterday, I had the pleasure of reporting on this story. Being new to Wisconsin, I had no idea what to expect when I first heard the City of Wausau would be bringing a group of goats to one of my favorite dog-walking spots. (1/?)

@sgharakhanian Yes! It was called the Pinnacle Pub. It was on the 9th floor and had " a fantastic view of downtown Austin" according to Angerman's daughter, Dina Smith.

@JoshJArchitect Good question! The ACC Board of Trustees may have some info for you about designs for ACC buildings. Here’s their info: 512-223-7613, board@austincc.edu

In 2019, the ACC board of trustees decided the Pinnacle would cost too much to repair or renovate. Now the college is debating whether to build an entirely new campus on the property. That will likely involve tearing down or changing the Pinnacle building as it stands now.

While the Pinnacle didn’t end up the way Angerman envisioned, Smith told me he never saw it as a failure.

“He passed away with no regret. He put everything he had into whatever he did,” she said. “That was a big thing for him. Make something happen … that was kind of his mantra.”
