@Tatterdemalious @inner_heaven @roseromaunt Tbf You have to be specific as to what those cancer rate is telling. Europeans live slightly longer, and cancer is mainly a product of growing old. The older you are the more chance of developing cancer.

@SlotMatey @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote I’d love to visit one day, but will hold out until you have someone more sensible in charge 😂 And fair enough - but the rhetoric online comes across as quite dogmatic. Like you’re basically stripping them of their salaries if you don’t work out how much you should tip

@immy_jpeg @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote Why don't you go visit US and see it for yourself? The term "socially pressured" is a tricky thing as mostly it's internal feeling as oppose to external. No one is going to call you out, and I've never seen waiters giving you a side eyes when you don't tip.

@immy_jpeg @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote Socially pressured? Yea, sure. But key is they're not obligated to. As a tourist it doesn't affect u. Only handful of countries in the world exists where tippings are extremely frowned against. Now unless you're from Japan, it's possible we have a similar tipping etiquette.

@SlotMatey @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote Okay, if you want to be pedantic I’ll change my phrasing to “you’re pressured to, but it’s not obligatory” Feel free to nitpick my precise wording whilst pretending you don’t know exactly what I mean this time around too!

@immy_jpeg @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote Insisted? That's a weird word to use. If something is insisted on, that often implies there's a strong expectation behind. In which case you're just proving my point.

@SlotMatey @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote The entire world finds US tip culture bewildering. It’s also confusing that you don’t incorporate taxes into final pricing. You’re expected to know the calculation of what you should pay rather than being told. Far worse for tourists than not knowing to simply ask for tap water

@immy_jpeg @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote Customer service is customer service regardless who it's for. You strive for the best service possible. Asking businesses to be more cognizant about tourists when they're located in touristy areas is not a hard ask.

@SlotMatey @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote Countries are generally designed around people who live there, not tourists. That’s why it’s considered common knowledge and sense to research a place before you go and visit. I once went to a country that didn’t do the ‘tap water’ - I now know to check local customs. Simple.

@immy_jpeg @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote I'm not arguing that water isn't free lol All I'm saying is that tourists often comes to country not knowing local customs and etiquette so it's up to the locals to make it easier to understand. The least they can do is clarify that tap water is free. Lol

@jwm031103 @immy_jpeg @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote It's no big deal. When Americans ask for water it's automatically implied that they're asking for glass of water. Waiters won't really tell you if they serve tap water. They just assume you're asking for bottled water. So a lot of tourist just assumes that's how it is.

@SlotMatey @immy_jpeg @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote Depends if you ask for a pint of water in a pub they just turn on the tap. Restaurants it’s always best to ask for tap water specifically (and even a jug if you want that much) but that’s just to stop them trying to charge you for it. I’ve never seen a restaurant refuse

@immy_jpeg @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote Issue is the confusion I guess? In US, the moment a customer sits they're handed a glass water whereas in europe you have to ask for it and typically waiters don't clarify if it's tap or bottled. They assumes it's bottled till you say it's tap.

@immy_jpeg @FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote No. You have to specifically ask for tap water. Asking just for water means bottled water which you will be charged for that. You don't have that issue in US. But again, it's just a minor thing that people should know about.

@FuckoBucko1 @generalquixote I have never gone to a restaurant or bar in the UK, asked for water, and not got it. I actually think it’s legislated that any establishment that serves alcohol has to serve water - and yet even the places that don’t serve alcohol would still never refuse to give free water.

@itsWARPfam @ttpdoutcharted @dogstuffie @JackTheDripp3r @charrlysa Americans are just saying for what it is. Don't fucking walk in highways. That's illegal at best or at worse you gonna get yourselves killed. Like, no. Just get rid of your high horse out for once and take locals' advice. Nobody cares what you think about our infrastructure.

@xxxxhxcx @mamtasonwalkar @anandanepali99 No not really, by law Nepal don't recognize duel citizenship. Look it up lol. Sure some might obtain a new citizenship and continue to use their home passport until they expire. But it's one of those "if you get caught" moment.

Big Win 👏for NRNs : The Government of Nepal has proposed a landmark policy shift to strengthen ties with the global Nepali diaspora. Under the new “National Commitment” framework, plans are underway for constitutional and legal amendments to ensure Citizenship Continuity for Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs). Beyond recognition, the proposal includes voting rights in national elections and guarantees for owning and inheriting ancestral property - removing long-standing bureaucratic barriers. This initiative aims to attract large-scale diaspora investment and harness NRN expertise for Nepal’s national development. Source: Stock Nepal

@mamtasonwalkar @anandanepali99 NRNs can't hold duel citizenships. Obtaining a US passport would immediately void their Nepali citizenship. For that reason, any NRNs who chooses to be Nepali citizenship abroad should be allowed to vote.

Nepali all over the world will be happy but I do not think it should include voting rights. Nepali left for better opportunity and they have the rights to come back to their country invest live but voting rights is the rights of the Nepali citizens! Once a Nepali always a Nepali is fine but again voting rights is not right. My humble opinion.

@coco75549749 @mistressdivy It really depends from people to people. I personally find treadmill harder as I tend to worry about not losing my balance on a machine. But treadmill is easy on your knees, you can control the speed, and generally very convenient.
