There’s a lot of momentum building across Europe right now, and Finland is one good example of both the upside and the pressure that come with it. We ran a Finnish Founder Survey to get a pulse on how founders feel about building locally. 56% of respondents say our culture needs to change. 50%+ have considered relocating, although the majority still want to stay in Europe. At the same time, Finland runs as a trust-based society, with a high quality of life, a stable political and legal environment, and developed infrastructure. These numbers signal a turning point for the whole startup ecosystem. The ambition is here, and so is the track record. Over the past 20 years, Finland has built 20 companies with €100M+ in annual revenue, ten unicorns, and three decacorns. Startups are already one of our fastest-growing industries.
