An illegal immigrant with gun charges was sitting in the Bristol County Sheriff's custody. ICE requested custody. The sheriff released him back into the community instead of cooperating with ICE. Then he publicly declared that he won't voluntarily notify ICE when illegal immigrants are being released from his jail. Let that sink in. A publicly elected sheriff chose politics over public safety. Massachusetts families deserve leaders who will work with law enforcement to remove dangerous criminals from our communities, not put them at risk. When I'm governor, we're going to get to the root of this problem, restore common sense, and put the safety of Massachusetts families first.

A president can publicly recommend or suggest a candidate (as any prominent figure might), and governors sometimes consider such input for political reasons. For example, in the recent case of Senator Lindsey Graham's death in South Carolina, reports noted President Trump recommending Graham’s sister as an interim appointee—though the final decision rests with Governor Henry McMaster under SC state law This is informal influence only, not a formal power.

Actually, Bernie, ABC and other networks have a responsibility to report the news in a fair, balanced, and impartial way. That's not happening which is why they are called the Fake News.
