Sadly, we have had to close applications for this service in less than 24 hours because we've had 7 times the number of applications that we have places. Grant funders, this is the level of unmet need. National and local government, this is the level of unmet need.

I was discussing school uniforms with a teenager who has never been required to wear one. She asked, if uniforms are so important, why don't people wear them at college and university? Which made me wonder, why can those who are over 18 attend classes no matter what they wear (within reason), but 11-16 year olds can be excluded from lessons and put in isolation due to non-regulation clothing or hair cuts?

What happens to LAs who would mostly end up paying the 20% VAT to independent special schools? So many are already going bankrupt. There is a dire need for more indie SEND schools yet ideas like this make future proprietors very nervous!

I feel my daughter is being abused and bullied on castle ward Peter hodgkinson unit.,,I have a message from her tonight and phoned the ward I am told she can only have her phone is she asked for it. I believe my daughter is being seriously abused

Due to sustained pressures at our Basingstoke & Winchester hospitals, we have declared a critical incident. This decision has not been taken lightly; however, beds across both hospitals are full & attendance at our emergency departments is extremely high.

I had no money growing up. My dad was a labourer and my mum did everything to make ends meet. Men worked hard. Women worked miracles. But education was free. As was the local library. I knew books were my passport to a better life. #SupportLibraries
