Drawing from her background in #defense policy, McInnis examines the personal and professional challenges faced by women navigating #WashingtonDC's corridors of power. They discuss how her experiences shaped the book’s exploration of Pentagon bureaucracy, moral dilemmas in #warfare, and the toll of high-stakes decisions, while highlighting the humor, humanity, and resilience found amidst the chaos. I was recently asked at @CSIS @Smartwomen how the @DeptofDefense faces multiple crises simultaneously. There's never been a time where we've had the luxury in the United States to really have just one crisis or urgent national security need to focus on. Having a North Star- the National Defense Strategy- aligning strategy to resources, and understanding what those most pressing, most dangerous, most likely contingencies are for which you need to be prepared is the way you do that.
