Director of Programmes & Operations, Ms. Noreen Nthiga is representing the Unit at the CARI-EA Project Closeout Stakeholder Meeting in Kampala, Uganda. The Unit prides itself in catalysing the transformation of Kenya's Rice Value Chain in collaboration with our valued Partners.

The forum which brought together various Stakeholders within the SME Ecosystem (Govt, Devt. and Private Partners), mainly discussed the Policy which aims to promote micro and small enterprises (MSEs) focusing on Wealth and Employment Creation Supporting #HighGrowthEnterpreneurs

SME Adv. Unit's Youth Liaison Officer, Grayson Marwa represented the Unit in the Sensitization Forum for the dissemination & implementation of the Kenya Micro & Small Enterprises Policy 2020, organized by the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade & Enterprise Development.

Gov.@AnyangNyongo applauded Ms Mwalo for her patriotic & courageous efforts. Reiterating support in provision of a conducive environment, supporting existing & new enterprises, as the County works towards businesses' & investment growth. Supporting #HighGrowthEntrepreneurs

The SME Adv. Unit has been coordinating the set-up of the 1st female-owned EPZ & also, the 1st private owned within the Western Ke. Region. An inspiring background story of vertical integration, displaying the heights that Enterpreneurs can scale up to, if guided & supported.

Mrs. Anne W. Mutahi, Head - SME Advisory Unit participated in a consultative meeting with Gov. @AnyangNyongo & Benter Mwalo discussing the soon-to-be launched DADA EPZ Ltd in Kisumu. The ent. brings promise of employment and dev. opportunities for @KisumuCountyKE & Kenya.

The Co. Registry is in charge of registration & regulating business names, partnerships, limited liability partnerships & companies. MSEs Awareness & Capacity Building remains low. The Service therefore seeks to create awareness & capacity of the MSEs to encourage formalisation

During the informative meeting, we discussed areas of support & collaboration based on Formalization of SMEs, Public Awareness on the benefits of the MPSR Registry to SMEs & Interventions in place for businesses (SMEs) rescue during distress. Supporting #HighGrowthEntrepreneurs

Today, the SME Advisory Unit led by Mrs. Anne W. Mutahi met with Kenneth Gathuma of @BRS, James Kashangaki of @FSDKe and their Teams to discuss the interventions that the Business Registry Services is currently undertaking to support SMEs. Supporting #HighGrowthEntrepreneurs

Mrs. Mutahi noted the great role the Creative Sector plays in Kenya. Encouraging formalisation & collaboration of players, to be able to speak in one voice. The Sector already provides employment/livelihood to millions of Kenyans, with greater potential to grow if well supported.

This weekend SME Advisory Head, Mrs Anne W. Mutahi was the Key Guest Speaker at the 2nd Edition of the Social Sunday Fashion Brunch themed “Elevated Elegance” at the Social House. The Brunch series is curated by @ConnieAluoch Award winning Stylist and Nation Fashion Columnist.
