a key point in the plot of office space is that the employees of initech have no stability, and are in fact perpetually on the chopping block because of the gutting of job protections and corporate profit-maxing that continues to make life hell for most americans every year

"AAAAAAAAAH GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT WITH A STABLE INCOME I'M LITERALLY IN HELL SAVE ME KURT COBAIN'S GHOST AAAAAAAH!" Why was Gen X like this?
English

@RandomMediaCaps Probably because their pilots debuted this week.

@BenjiGameDev Most of these companies can afford to go without layoffs. Layoffs usually happen even when a company is doing well.
English

Satoru Iwata's famous 50% pay cut was an entirely symbolic gesture. It lasted 5 months, and wouldn't have saved many jobs. Nintendo avoided layoffs during the Wii U disaster because they had billions in the bank
George Alexopoulos@GPrime85
This is Satoru Iwata. When Nintendo fell on a rough financial patch in 2014, he gave himself a huge pay cut rather than lay off any employees, saving countless jobs.

@AskrSMNBrandon @GoNintendoTweet It's not as suspicious as it seems. Usually companies are only willing to pay for timed licenses because they make a vast majority of their profits on a game at or near launch.
Paying for songs in perpetuity is just kind of wasteful from a business perspective.
English

@GoNintendoTweet Infinite funding for a licensing deal, something no other gaming company has ever had.
That is the most suspicious thing I've ever heard.
English

Mixtape's song licenses were paid in perpetuity, so don't expect licensing issues to lead to a delisting gonintendo.com/contents/60859…

@Star_Wyse Context: There's currently a hack that binds maneuvering to the D-pad and lets you boost and brake with the A & B buttons.
But the creator of the hack said they couldn't figure out what triggers rolling to bind it to a digital input. This is the last thing to make this game good
English

@Star_Wyse When someone figures out how to bind roll to a digital command, it's going to be a gamechanger.
English

@NY_Knux @GoNintendoTweet It's not a secret. It's published by Annapurna Interactive.
English

@GoNintendoTweet Okay, now this game is suspect. Who backed it, exactly? I'm going to have to research their background.

No, we are not going to turn being against ai into a “white people” thing

@ItoiProto @uni_gree Did I seriously just say Wii U? I am not paying attention.
English

@ItoiProto @uni_gree While I haven't explored enough of the Wii U's library to definitively say it's the best Wii game, Sin & Punishment 2 is going to be really REALLY hard to beat.

@SecretDJFaust I would not mind if Star Fox decided to start being more like Rogue Squadron or Wing Commander. That genre is also under-appreciated.
But on-rails action is not something we "need to graduate from." On rails is its own genre and it hasn't scratched its surface.
English

This is the logic that causes franchises to stagnate and never move forward.
Launch! - Blue Haired Liberal@DBZYuYuYasha
@GeorgeCrudo Absolutely not. Star Fox is an arcade on-rails shooter game. Why are people trying to make it more than that? Do the racers need to get out of the kart in Mario Kart? Do we need the fighters in Smash to be part of an open world or something? Star Fox is fine without the bloat.

Do you know why this white man is relevant to Black history? Let me enlighten you.
He was one of the Freedom Riders. In 1960, he was on a bus full of Freedom Riders who arrived in Montgomery Alabama where an angry white mob was waiting for them. He volunteered to get off the bus first and take the brunt of the mob's violence, which left him beaten and bloody. His name was James Zwerg.
