I don't think I've ever seen a game studio fumble success as badly as Embark are doing with Arc Raiders. Six months ago it was THE game to play. Fast forward to today - new major update is a flop, still no end-game loop, players are bored, everyone leaving. Is Arc Raiders dead?

@LoochyTV Are you joking? The map is small but all open space with nothing to loot. Nothing to do other than run to the other side of the map an hope that no one has looted the only worthwhile stuff. Added a big fuckall flying arc that barley shows up and no one in my games even cared for.

ARC Raiders simply does not miss with map/level design. Riven Tides is great and fits the coastal beach town vibe perfectly. They’ve just got to figure out some better ways to keep players engaged between MAJOR updates like this…since new maps take around 6 months to make. -Major Map Conditions -New Gadgets/Items (like the white flag, crash pads, instruments) that drive unique moments and social experiences. -Skill tree rework and improvements -Augment Improvements (mentioned in patch notes) that promote various styles of play and don’t feel underwhelming Overall I think ARC Raiders is settling into its core fanbase. The initial hype is gone, but that happens with every game. One cool update per month that forces players to adapt to some cool new stuff is enough IMO. They are headed in the right direction.

The latest update has ARCs hitting harder and acting more aggressive. Solo play is rough right now, with most players saying squads are basically required to survive. Sticking together isn't optional anymore. Some players aren't happy. Others think it's the best thing to happen to the game, saying it finally feels like a real challenge. Even PvP players are switching to PvE just to take it on.
