Run it

Without Allisha Gray’s third-quarter takeover, the Atlanta Dream likely drop their season opener. The 2025 All-WNBA First Team selection scored 14 of her 24 points in the third quarter alone and also assisted on a Madina Okot basket, helping Atlanta trim a 15-point first-half deficit to just eight entering the final period. From there, the momentum had clearly shifted in the Dream’s favor as they continued chipping away, eventually taking the lead and securing the 91–90 win. Gray’s clutch free throws tied the game at 87-87, but her biggest moment may have come on the defensive end. Rotating over in the closing seconds, she blocked Olivia Miles—who finished with 21 points—at the rim, preventing what could have been the go-ahead basket for the Lynx. Had Gray been even a second late on the rotation, Minnesota likely takes the lead in that moment. It marked the third time in Gray’s 10-year career that she’s scored 20+ points in a season opener, most recently doing so last season when she dropped 25 against Washington. 🪄
