Here is my story. Nov 2022. Historical 4-year cycle low timeframe. I'm excited. Optimistic. Finally, my chance has come. Put in everything I had saved into the markets. Mostly alts of course. Took a bank loan for roughly the same amount. 1.08x leverage. Conservative on paper.

You have no experience. You’ve never started a company. You’ve never had a full time job. Nike is going to kill you. You’re a kid. You don’t have technical skills. You shouldn’t build hardware. Apple is going to kill you. You can’t build hardware. You can’t measure heart rate non-invasively. Athletes don’t care about recovery. Under Armour is going to kill you. It won’t be accurate. You don’t listen. You’re an ineffective leader. You can’t recruit great talent. You’re going to have to pay every athlete. You can’t measure sleep non-invasively. It’s too expensive to research. Athletes are a small market. The product costs too much to make. The product costs too much to sell. Your valuation is too high. Consumers aren’t going to want it. Hardware is too hard. You should measure steps. Fitbit is going to kill you. You can’t build a marketing engine. You can’t raise enough money. You need a real CEO. Google is going to kill you. You can’t be a subscription. You can’t build a brand. You can’t do consumer in Boston. Your valuation is too high. You shouldn’t make accessories. You shouldn’t make apparel. Lululemon is going to kill you. You can’t predict Covid. Stay in your niche. You are going to run out of money. You can’t build a health platform. Amazon is going to kill you. You can’t measure blood pressure. You can’t get medical approvals. The market is too small. You don’t understand AI. The market is too competitive. It won’t work internationally. The supply chain is too complicated. You can’t build an AI. You can’t raise enough money. It’s too competitive. Healthcare isn’t going to want it. … Just keep going ✌️

The sun was free. They sold you SPF 50 and a vitamin D deficiency. Sleep was free. They sold you an app, a pill, and a wearable that tells you your sleep was bad. Walking was free. They sold you a treadmill, a fitness tracker, and a £180 pair of trainers. Fasting was free. They sold you meal replacement shakes and the anxiety that skipping breakfast would wreck your metabolism. Cold water was free. They sold you a £3,000 plunge barrel and a podcast episode about it. Silence was free. They sold you a meditation app with a premium tier. Animal fat was cheap. They sold you seed oils, then supplements to replace what the animal fat contained. Tallow was cheap. They sold you a seventeen-step skincare routine and a clinical trial proving your face needs ceramides. Meat was cheap. They are currently selling you the idea that you shouldn't eat it. The 20th century removed access to everything the body needs to function. The 21st century is selling it back, one subscription at a time. Your great-grandmother had none of the products. She had all of the things.

Off topic post but I would appreciate some opinions: Background: 1) I grew up extremely poor 2) that is no longer the case 3) I am a recent father I was going to send my child(ren) to private school because I think it is natural to want to give them the best opportunity. I recently saw some private school kids, one of them nonchalantly said their ideal weekend was to go to hop over to Monaco and maybe ride a hot air balloon. I realised in this moment, I did not want my kid to grow up that sheltered. Keep in mind my culture is not having an activated copy of windows and despite being a pro trader, I still use the free version of trading view. Worlds apart. How do I navigate this? Is it as simple as teaching them how the world works? Am I overthinking it and they will just copy me, with my 20 quid trainers with holes in and a 'if my feet get wet I will dry them' attitude? Do I embrace the lucky situation I found myself in and spoil the kids - is there a happy medium somewhere in between? How much is nature vs nurture? Is a casual approach to wealth better than low vibration / scarcity type mindset? Should I focus on encouraging them to put a dent in the universe? Does it even matter? Maybe he just lives that life and never needs to feel the struggle I did? Private school applications need to be made in around 6 months time, so I need to figure this out by about August. Would appreciate your thoughts

The only advice i would give a son is the world hates you until you become useful. then it pretends it never hated you, and you must remember that it did, or you will start believing the love is real. and that is how they tame you

Pull yourself out of a rut: - Oppenheimer soundtrack on full blast - make eggs (seriously) - vitamin B1 and taurine - shave, haircut, gym - in that order - sauna then cold shower - clear the desk, close all tabs - go outside (nature doesn't let you feel sorry for yourself) - be around feminine women - give something to someone else - create something, anything - you can talk to anyone on earth instantly (for free) - you have access to every book ever written, every piece of music, every idea for free, in your pocket - say out loud "i am the luckiest man alive" - sounds stupid, works every time A part of you loves the rut the rut feels safe because you've survived it before it isn't laziness, it's an old identity that isn't ready to die yet... the list above isn't the fix it's just enough momentum to remind you who you actually are the world responds to someone who's committed & that someone is you, right now now go do something about it

Definitely considering a long dedicated parents/child raising blog Basically have enough experience with interesting tells. The problem is people get even more emotional about it, esp when you tell them their kid isn't going pro no matter how hard they train
