Running a 365-day photo challenge to level-up product photography while building leather goods into income. One real shot a day—progress, fails, breakthroughs. #365PhotoChallenge For as long as I can remember, I’ve been happiest making stuff—creating, building, hands-on work. Right-brained at my core, I kept chasing left-brained career paths anyway because those were the options that seemed available, stable, and expected: structured jobs, rules, and systems where I did well on paper but never truly fit in. When I entered the US Air Force, it was one of the few real choices open—no college, no connections, limited experience—so I took the opportunity it offered. Life pulled me deeper into its endless carousel of politics, proper behavior, and conformity. At 61, I’m stepping off that carousel. Now the craft pulls me in—handcrafted pirate- and nautical-influenced gear from veg-tan for the modern-day adventurer, captured through the lens. Northern Utah based. エルメスのトートバッグ、染め直しさせて頂きました。 長年使用した事で、ロウと水分が抜けていたのと擦れて、塗装が剥がれてしまっていましたので、色を作って染め直しました。 今回はシボ革でしたので、乳化性で下地、顔料を多めに使用しました。 仕上げはトップコートスプレーです。

【靴＆カバンオイルメンテナンス2】 今日はカバン磨きの続き。 昨日茶色のかばんに、ミディアムブラウン色のクリームを目立たない底面に塗ったところ、色のマッチングがぴったりでした。 そこで、全面に塗ったところ、若干むらが残りましたが、全体的にあった擦り傷を隠すことに成功🙂 ブラッシングした後、丸1日乾かして、色落ち防止のためにレザーコートを塗りました。 再び一軍のかばんになれたかな☺️ #ojamalegaful #レザークラフト

結構前に作ったヤツ。

It looks like you are pulling the thread too tightly on the left side. This looks like fairly thin, soft leather. Try pulling the thread just until it is firmly through the leather, but not causing a pinch. Also, remember to do each stitch the same. Start with the same thread every time, and pull the same direction every time. It makes a difference.

カードケース完成しました！ 色合いを皮も糸も黒にしてのっぺりした感じになってしまいました。 金具がないので紐のところ繋がってません 革のカットはある程度慣れてきたけど、やはり縫い目が悪い気がします。 どうしたらもっと綺麗に縫えるでしょうか。 #大人のレザークラフト #レザークラフト

とりあえず 外周も縫い終わり第1弾完成 薄く仕立てたいと思い薄い革で仕立てましたがペロペロに… 皆様から貰ったアドバイスを次に活かしたいと思います‼︎ その他課題もあるので修正しよ。 ファスナーより蓋の方がいいな。変更しよ。 第2弾の外装はこいつだな‼︎頑張ります

Day 20/365-After more struggles with dye, I managed to get the colors matched. Do you have tricks on how to get better matches the first time? These are still drying (note the blotchiness), so cutting on the machine tomorrow for consistency. #365PhotoChallenge #VetMaker

@tonkitu Your individual pieces need to be sanded to the same (lowest) level first, before applying the Toconal or neatsfoot oil. So, more aggressive sandpaper, not finer, then the finer sandpaper. I use coarse emery boards when I am at that stage. You're very close.

Day 19/365-Well, I said failures too, didn’t I? Failure #1-while sanding one of the two closure pieces, I sanded through the finish. No big deal, I will just re-dye. SMH. So, replacing the closure piece A and the spine. #365PhotoChallenge #VetMaker
