The pauper metagame right now For this analysis I used the top 16 of paupergeddon and top 16 of the CLM finals (a brazilian tournament with +300 players qualified) and all the 5 challenges from last week

@pajaroywea Perched paid off big time in the last match vs Tribe exiling 2 draw spells and putting me out of range of 5-discards combo, it's also amazing vs Naya, I'd keep it for now! Vitu-Ghazi was the MVP for me last year but with Rakdos being dead I wanted to try the more impactful Pachy

@DPTyrellN MU is sadly unplayable as of now, due to lava dart + interactable "combo kill", for the SB last Geddon a group of strong players popularized the removals plan... but if they cut Kessig, Guttersnipe comes down the turn you die. Could try pulse of murasa but i'm not sold on it.

@Doowan_ "Played" in this game has three different meanings... (yeah. WTF. I know) In this case, similarly to Ravenbloom Student, is to be considered like "resolve", the spell has to go through in order to draw (or to give +1 to a Ravenbloom Student)

Hey Riftbound players, do you have any good resources to speedrun the learning process?

@PaintedinG93916 @Marzaboi_MTG @LPauperItalia @GavinVerhey High Tide was particularly egregious because the panel decided to unban it on purpose. It should have been easy to foresee that it would've created an unfun deck with wildly polarized matchups and a very narrow range of meaningul interactions. And yet they took ages to reban it.

@Marzaboi_MTG @LPauperItalia @GavinVerhey Worded much nicer then I would have been able to. good on you. A decision made with very little data. Especially when they left high tide well passed when any new data was really needed.

@Marzaboi_MTG @LPauperItalia @GavinVerhey 100% agree. Formats get turned upside down every time with new sets, while in Pauper since MH3 we only got upgrades to existing decks; the one time that a new strategy could've shaken up things and reward deckbuilders they banned it in 2 days.

On a more serious note, about the true bane of the format: meta staleness, loud clueless voices and Sneacky Snaker. Don't @ me, it ain't a debate

@Mengu09 @tokenn_x If not banworthy based on stats, do you think it is so based on play patterns? Personally I would rather the premier combo deck in the format be something broadly interactable like this, rather than grave hate checks like the current combos in the format (see: the cycle in 1st p)

@tokenn_x It is banworthy and it will be banned soon. Question is if the PFP wants people to buy and play with the cards or not.

A 214 players RCQ happened on MTGO and zero copies of this combo deck Top8ed. While I think a 2 cards combo that costs 1-2 mana has no place in Pauper at all, the deck may be bearable for a while and acceptable to play few months with to shake things up in Pauper.
