@SolidEvidence I would assume from washing items from pet snake enclosures. If they poop in their water dish you have to wash it, of course, but also sometimes people give their snakes a warm water soak to help with shedding or constipation. People may flush snake poop bc it’s very stinky.

Who can tell me about snakes? We monitor WW for Arenaviruses, because they can be scary. On several occasions we've detected Reptarenavirus sequences, sometimes a lot of it. They only seem to infect boa constrictors and pythons. How's it getting in WW?
