I did it! 🏆☺️😎 Won the 1000-player “Tusenmanna” tournament in Stockholm. A long grind, over 10-hours of chess (17 rapid, 2 blitz games). Wasn’t easy shaking off the rust, but it was a fun challenge. Many thanks to @Chessparty_ for such a memorable weekend!

@JPainter_ I remember watching videos that went viral exposing big creators for this, and the original channels got a lot of attention from the drama It might be worth reaching out to channels that make these 'exposing' videos and getting some free publicity :) would be a bit of justice

@RoizMichael83 You can't let black go xc3 for free because of nxb4, bxa6 - or rxa4 with the same idea - (since it lets you go qxf4 then rxb4!! where black's position is over other than that, 1.qxf4 after which black's queenside pawns fall apart with white's pieces happy and black's king open

This is the critical position of Game 5 of match Topalov, V - Erdogmus, Y. White's position is close to winning, but the careless 26.Nxd4? let Black mount a strong counterplay and eventually win. In optimal shape Veselin should have played another move. What is your choice here?

My dark horse crushes the Candidates! 🐎 It will be an epic match Sindarov vs Gukesh! 🏆 The only question remains: will Gukesh survive the explosive style of the Uzbek? 🧨

Imagine that in the most critical game of the Candidates you play a 99,2% accuracy game - should be a win, right? Well, the opponent responds with 99.5%! Congratulations to Javokhir Sindarov!

The loser of the match against Awonder donates 10k to the Winner’s choice. The match is far from over, but what charities would you recommend? I know Gift of Chess , Chess in the Slums, and Chess in the Schools do amazing work.

@Vachier_Lagrave Must say, this would also be great for the viewers and hence great for bringing in sponsors if advertised and produced properly!

I take the opportunity to offer my similar view, with a twist: using this short classical time control, I loved the format of WR Chess that I took part in, 16 players, 1 match per day, 4 days. You could easily imagine creating a circuit looking like the ATP tour, with 2-3 different tournaments in a week all around the world, 16-32 players in each. (and could easily envision a few grand slams lasting two weeks, with more players and some matches with 4 games/2 days) Every player from top 100 and more would have more opportunities to take part in those competitions (and closer to their home), and every game played would have something big at stake. Just my 2 cents!
Levon Aronian@LevAronian

The match between my fellow Americans @HansMokeNiemann and @awonder676 is very exciting and i love the format, 2 short classical games a day, rated, winner takes it all! The tenacity of Hans is world class, while Awonder , by outplaying him is showing that he is capable of anything. I feel that the fact that it’s played in Paris , somehow brings chess back to the era of Cafe de la Regence , La Bourdonnais , Anderssen and Morphy. In an economy where 30 players are fighting for 10 invitational spots this is a way to go. Bravo!
