📰New FACTOR FLASH⚡️ When a new project appears near the top of a profitability table, most miners only see a ticker, a symbol and a few numbers: revenue per day, power, hashrate. Behind $FACT, sitting today among the most profitable coins for CPUs like the Ryzen 7950X, there is a quiet story of engineering work that almost no one sees: a redefinition of what “hashrate” even means for a non‑hashing network, a reworked pool backend, and a long back‑and‑forth with the team at @HashrateNO to make everything line up correctly. At the center of that work is Alex, @_fact_dog_, FACTOR’s mining ambassador. This is how FACTOR made it onto Hashrate.no, and why that matters for miners who care about both their revenue and the kind of work their CPUs are actually doing. Link to article in thread ▼

Mexico is moving from paper IDs to a unified digital identity backbone; e.Firma, Llave MX, and the new biometric CURP. All of it rests on #RSA. How do we know these keys are as strong in practice as they are on paper? Factor provides the strategy and the tooling, tiered audits, real-world stress tests, and a clear path to measuring RSA strength across critical systems. Link to Article in thread ▼

We want to thank Liina Areng - the director of EU Cybernet and president of LAC4- and her team for hosting such a great conference this year and making us part of their mission: borderless resilience. At FACTOR, proper cryptography and crypto-currencies combine to make the borderless mission join the resilience mission with a blockchain platform to deliver cryptographic services to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean who do not have an NSA-like institution to do cryptanalysis for their infrastructure - yet. @eucybernet @LAC4_EUCN #FACTOR @JuanDCifra

On the Right you have a quantum computing machine running at near absolute 0°K On the LEFT you have another quantum machine running virtual qubits that produce even better quantum computing benchmarks by a margin the likes of which no tech company has ever seen... running at room temperature... Overhead-wise... Which technology do you think is more scalable? 😶‍🌫️ #IYKYK @DynexQaaS @dynexcoin @VibraFinance @that_investor $DNX

🎃 Spooked by weak encryption? It’s scary out there. Keys get cracked, data gets leaked, and “secure” doesn’t always mean safe. Factor helps take the fear out of cryptography. Our network puts real mathematical muscle behind the algorithms that keep data private, proving, block by block, how strong or fragile encryption really is. No tricks. Just math. #HappyHalloween #Factor

Factor $FACT Core Features #6 Market-Driven Pricing: Value Set by the Work, Not the Platform What it is Factor introduces a decentralized bounty marketplace where pricing emerges organically from supply and demand. Users posting factoring challenges define their own reward levels, and miners or solvers choose which problems to pursue based on perceived difficulty and payout. There are no centralized pricing models or intermediaries, only open competition and direct valuation of work. Why it matters In traditional freelance platforms or academic grant systems, compensation is often dictated by opaque budgets, institutional priorities, or platform fees. In most blockchain environments, work is uniform, every miner performs the same task regardless of its real-world value. Factor flips that model by letting problem creators offer competitive rewards and letting solvers choose where to direct their compute based on real incentives. The harder the problem, the greater the payout, and the more likely it is to attract talent. What this means for users Your task, your price. Whether you're submitting a cutting-edge cryptographic challenge or a mid-range benchmark, you decide how much it’s worth. Miners and solvers vote with their CPUs and GPUs, if your bounty is compelling, it will get solved. If it isn’t, it will wait. This results in a living economic graph of what it costs to solve real math in real time, without middlemen. Applicable Sectors & Markets • Research Funding and Grant Alternatives • Crowdsourced Scientific Computing • Decentralized Freelance Compute • Proof-of-Work Token Economics • Open Bounty Markets in Cryptography Benefits to Users 💸 Bounty Creators have full control over pricing. No platform fees. No overhead. Just post the problem and name the reward. ⛏️ Miners can skip low-effort, low-reward tasks and compete only on bounties that match their skill or compute efficiency. 🧠 Researchers gain access to pricing benchmarks across problem types and can adjust rewards to meet solution urgency. 📊 Enterprises can observe pricing signals across bounty types to inform security budgets, testing strategies, or vulnerability modeling. 🏛️ Academic Labs can use reward calibration to teach market dynamics of computational work and optimize problem difficulty over time. 🧑‍💻 Developers building on Factor can integrate pricing data into apps, leaderboards, or prediction tools — using the open market as an oracle for computational value.

Very informative video, @encryptioncons Factor’s contribution to this topic is diagnostic and empirical. It quantifies cryptographic decay and benchmarks real-world factoring progress. This data directly informs PQC urgency and transition strategies. It’s part of the same narrative of quantum preparedness, but from the proof-of-computation side rather than the algorithmic defence side. • Factor operates at the front line of cryptographic entropy, mapping where current encryption begins to fail. • It's network represents practical post-quantum readiness, not by simulation, but by real mathematical work. • Factor's Useful proof-of-work #UPoW is the bridge between today’s vulnerable encryption and tomorrow’s quantum-secure systems. While PQC standards define the defenses of the future, Factor is testing the limits of the present. Our network continuously factors real keys, generating the data that proves why post-quantum cryptography matters. projectfactor.io

Post-quantum cryptography represents a major step forward in securing the digital world against future computational threats. In the previous session of our PQC series, we explored ML-KEM for key exchange and ML-DSA for digital signatures, which form the foundation of this new cryptographic era. In this video, we go beyond those core standards to explore the alternative PQC algorithms that complement them. The discussion breaks down how these algorithms function, their practical use cases, and the factors influencing their implementation across different environments. Here is the truth bomb everyone is ignoring. 20-30% of Bitcoin will be taken by a Quantum Machine within 2-8 years and there is absolutely nothing we can do to stop this. These are P2PK addresses, like Satoshis $125B, and many other old/lost coins. Bitcoiners have a painful decision to make that we must start discussing now. Do we: A) Let the Quantum hackers take it and market dump half a $Trillion +? B) Do we agree a migration period for these coins, and if they don't migrate to Quantum Proof addresses in time we BURN all their assets? These are the only two options we have. I currently lean towards option (B) as a 30% supply unlock will probably destroy Bitcoin's "hard money" and "trust the code" value prop. 🫳 💣

DYK? Did you know @ProjectFactor has factored about half of all 512-bit *RSA keys on the internet? So What? That means Factor has already proven its real-world capability to break weak encryption at a massive scale. In practical terms, it demonstrates that the network isn’t just theoretical math, it’s performing computational work with measurable, verifiable results. Factoring half of all known 512-bit RSA keys shows that Factor’s distributed compute power rivals some of the most advanced academic and governmental research clusters, validating its model for decentralized, real-world math-as-a-service. Why That Matters for the Quantum Age As #quantumcomputing advances, much of today’s encryption, including RSA, will become vulnerable. Traditional mining systems waste enormous energy solving meaningless hashes that quantum machines could trivialize overnight. Factor, by contrast, anchors its block rewards to real cryptographic work. Each solved key is both proof of work and proof of utility. This model evolves naturally with the coming era: instead of being rendered obsolete by quantum power, Factor’s Integer-Factorization-as-a-Service (IFaaS) harnesses it. So, as computing capacity scales, whether classical or quantum, Factor’s network scales with it, turning that raw power into measurable scarcity and genuine security work. This positions Factor as a bridge between classical cryptography and post-quantum cryptographic systems, transforming mining from a wasteful race into a globally useful compute marketplace that secures the next generation of cryptographic infrastructure. 🔗Link to website for further research and to participate.🔬▼
