Ski areas in the Western Alps reported up to 1m (40") of snowfall over the weekend. Italy's @pilaaostavalley , pictured, posted 60cm (2 feet).

After an often mild, dry winter there's now some serious snowfall in Oregon on higher ground over the past few days. Spring and summer ski centre @timberlinelodge tops global tables with 49" (more than 4 feet/1.2m) in the past 72 hours.

Europe's deepest base has gone back up to 4m after @alpedhuez reported 26cm of snowfall on its higher slopes in the last 24 hours as more unsettled, snowy weather returns to The Alps (pic taken after huge falls last month).

Powdery times in Canada's Alberta and BC. Lake Louise Ski Resort has reported 18" (45cm) in the past few days and there's been more than a foot (30cm) @SunshineVillage (pictured yesterday).

A front has brought fresh snowfall to the Rockies with many areas posting 10-20" (25-50cm). Idaho's @pomerellemountain topped the totals by some distance with a reported 36" (90cm) in 24 hours.

Scotland's @cairngormmountain has announced a new option for ski tourers and splitboarders visiting during the snowsports season to buy a Funicular Railway ticket up, giving limited touring access on selected days when snow cover and conditions are suitable.

Great conditions continue in New England. Largest resort Vermont's @killingtonmtn reports "100% open and skiing like mid-winter."

Switzerland's @glacier3000 reports 183cm (6 feet) of snowfall this week and is preparing to reopen.
