Why are engagements so long? I’m genuinely curious what makes it a year or longer thing. Family member just got engaged and I thought the wedding was this January, turns out it’s January 2028.

I noticed alcohol would hit me harder when I’d drink then go days or weeks in between drinking. When I started playing hockey last year, a couple locker room beers 3-4x a week gave me a noticeable tolerance boost.

I’ve never understood why guys feel so bad days after drinking, I grew up surrounded by surfers who didn’t drink heavily to the point they were drunk but everyday they were having a few beers and were shredded and full of life. Maybe alcohol is meant for whites only idk

@SnowMed34 Ahhh yes! If you specifically want an NYE wedding you do need to plan those well in advance because those are high demand. It’s a fun celebratory night for a wedding, you get free fireworks, and most people have the next day off work.

@SnowMed34 Couple reasons: weddings tend to cluster in the spring and fall so there are a limited number of Saturday spots everyone wants. And couples want to give friends and family enough runway to ensure they don’t have any other prior commitments.
