If Dale Earnhardt did this it would be regarded as one of the greatest nascar moves of all time and probably be remembered as “the night he showed everyone he was no.1 at RCR”
@zonewintergreen@ThatRaceFan@ihave40winsonYT I see what you’re saying about them, it’s different times and what was permitted as a win by NASCAR then, is not today bc it would ruin the “Intimidator” image they built for him and his fans
@Snowman441@ThatRaceFan@ihave40winsonYT Larson? Hamlin? Why are we acting like this is a unique phenomena. And again, Dale was not universally loved for a good bit of his career. I agree with Aidan, fans today mostly misremember his career
I suppose sending Labonte head on into the wall at Bristol was clean, Waltrip at Richmond was clean, and Hamilton at Rockingham was clean. Take the blinders off, he was dirty but it was ok for all of his fans and NASCAR. They don’t want another one bc that would destroy his image they built.
@ThatRaceFan@zonewintergreen@ihave40winsonYT And Richmond in 86 and Rockingham in 96, to name a couple more most of his fans choose to omit. The man got famous by wrecking people BUT he’s the only one that was allowed and adored for it. Hypocrisy, not nepotism.
@zonewintergreen@ihave40winsonYT I feel like his actual skill getting taken for granted by people who witnessed his career in the years after he died has led to this annoying thing now where people act like he was right rearing people through the fence every week and that’s what made people call him badass.
