@digitalartchick I’m in. Read an absolute ton of the genre and would love to read even w no feedback unless you want it. Literally reading Patrick Rothfuss at the moment.

@JoyceCarolOates You’re an idyllic spring day. Simply delightful.

@evilwizardbunny Stop putting it off. It can get infected and your entire head will feel like a throbbing mass of hell. My wife said I was delusional and literally asked the dentist if it could go to my brain and he was like ‘absolutely’ 😉

@SoCalBeachDaze this is so true i keep trying to remind myself !! the pain will only get worse the longer i put it off

@TrendSpider Still a ways to go before we hit that gap under 225. Wonder what RSI will be then?

“Life will break you,” Louise Erdrich wrote in her passionate insistence that “you are here to risk your heart.” It can happen with a shattering, or with a thousand small fissures, but the great paradox — the great salvation — is that every time it happens, you live to see you are unbreakable.

@themarginalian In the process of going deaf from Menieres, so this is both a kick in the nuts and a gentle affirmation and blessing. Relish every moment…

AI safety research treats emerging capabilities as independent risks and addresses them individually. Our latest paper argues they form a dependency chain and proposes a systematic application of EWS methodology to AI capability emergence detection.

EXCLUSIVE DETAILS - Diablo Cody has been fully unleashed to write JENNIFER'S BODY 2, and she tells Bloody Disgusting: "Thematically, the whole movie is a response to the rediscovery [of the first film]."

@Romy_Holland 100% agree. Not to mention subjecting them to the associated stress and possibility of some ass hat running into them. The U at LAX is a miserable hell and no sane person cares to be there.

i read everyone’s replies and have been trying to imagine wanting my fiancé to spend 2 hours picking me up from the airport and i just can’t.
our time is finite and largely shared. my goal is to minimize the amount of time we spend sitting in the car. i’d so much rather he spend 2 hours working so that once i got home we could go do something fun together for 2 extra hours.
also ppl seem to find ubering to be stressful. i don’t understand? you’re being chauffeured around like a head of state or something, it’s chill af. way better than being on a plane.
Romy@Romy_Holland
i actually don’t understand why ppl care about airport pickups/drop offs in the age of uber. if the airport is like 10 min away i see how it’s nice, but driving an hour or more round trip is just a huge waste of time.
English

@vurnt22 Absolutely agree, but I have to say Jacob’s Ladder leaves me far more unsettled and melancholy.
English

I’ve always connected that film to Jacob’s Ladder, for some reason. Deserves a rewatch!

@vurnt22 Thoughts on "Altered States"?
English

@vurnt22 I have big hopes that in the next few years a decent version of a Laird Barron story will be produced and scratch that itch in a nicely modern way.
English

It’s another in the Failed Lovecraftian oeuvre. Reanimator,(1985) , is a superior film to Beyond, mainly because of Jeffrey Combs’ inspiredly loony Herbert West. As fun as that film is, it’s not Mythos. It’s incredibly frustrating that Cthulhu his not yet been realized on screen.

@vurnt22 FROM BEYOND isn't what I'd call a *good* movie but it's really compelling. Always think of that one as a pairing with Carpenter's PRINCE OF DARKNESS.
English

@market_sleuth If that includes pets I’m a composite of my wife, daughter, cat, dog and trading twitter. Not sure if that’s good or bad 😉

@historyrock_ He’s gotten a lot of mileage outta that one outfit from when he was in school. OG Frugal.
