Strong northerly winds will develop tonight, transitioning into a Santa Ana wind event Fri into at least Sat. High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories have been issued. There is a HIGH risk for downed trees and power outages due to softened soils from recent soaking rains. #CAwx

No individual perspective could ever adequately describe the January wildfire disaster. The event forever changed a piece of Southern California. Communities destroyed, lives lost. We think about these communities heavily today. The strength, generosity, compassion and sense of service was also part of this disaster. The heroism by our local firefighters and those that came to assist can not be fully commended. I am incredibly proud of our firefighters and public safety officials that put themselves in great danger to save lives on January 7th. 🙏 🇺🇸🔥

State Route 2 near Angeles National Forest remains closed after storms caused significant damage to the roadbed in at least four locations. The closure spans roughly from Cedar Springs, 3.3 miles east of Newcomb's Ranch, to State Route 138.   Damage assessments are ongoing.
