The prolonged heat wave continues, and is still on track to peak Tuesday through Friday this week. Temperatures will continue to be warm overnight, and may not provide much relief to heat stress overnight. What have you done to prepare for the heatwave? #CAwx #Socal #LA #Heat

LOX AFD: "There is about a 50% chance of some rain in the February 8 through 14 window based on the latest ensemble solutions. Of the ones that favor rain, about 5 to 10% show amounts over an inch. This is not a very strong signal, but something to watch over the coming days."

Gusty Santa Ana winds will continue to impact typical wind corridors of LA?Ventura counties through much of next week. There will be a high risk for downed trees due to the very wet soils, as well as hazardous driving/boating conditions. #LAWeather #cawx

Strong northerly winds will develop tonight, transitioning into a Santa Ana wind event Fri into at least Sat. High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories have been issued. There is a HIGH risk for downed trees and power outages due to softened soils from recent soaking rains. #CAwx

Today may be difficult for a lot of folks. Be kind to yourself. Take a breath. Take a break if you need one. I know social media will be full of stuff about the fires. And I know it will be nearly impossible to avoid. Let's just give each other some consideration today.

No individual perspective could ever adequately describe the January wildfire disaster. The event forever changed a piece of Southern California. Communities destroyed, lives lost. We think about these communities heavily today. The strength, generosity, compassion and sense of service was also part of this disaster. The heroism by our local firefighters and those that came to assist can not be fully commended. I am incredibly proud of our firefighters and public safety officials that put themselves in great danger to save lives on January 7th. 🙏 🇺🇸🔥

Looking forward to some dry #SoCal weather thru mid-month. For Fri-Sun, moderate #SantaAnaWinds are looking likely for the usual spots. Before that, some gusty north winds across the I-5 Corridor and Santa Ynez Range on Thu.

Pattern change incoming - Our West Coast Trough Pattern breaks down and shifts East after midweek as a Ridge builds in across the Western US, bringing a return of dry weather and mild daytime temperatures across #SoCal through at least mid-month. #CAwx

Heavy rain is developing over southern #SantaBarbara County and will likely slowly move across the south coast this morning. If feasible, avoid the roads this morning until this band passes, as the risk for ample road flooding is growing. #cawx #larain

Latest radar showing the storm moving through the area. Expect any lingering steady rain to turn to isolated off and on again showers for the rest of the day. Roads remain slick - slow down, do not drive through any flooded roads. Stay away from creeks and rivers. #cawx #larain
