@CrowdedHead @iamslickrick01 Nah, can't do worse than the MJ Estate - fake tracks, remixing his work, posting pics of a female impersonator as though they were him on his official social media, etc etc etc. But yeah, the JB Estate is terrible too.

@iamslickrick01 Along those lines, the Dakota shows in January of 2013 when he did shows 3 nights in a row (2 shows per night) with three different bands, three whole different genres of shows. Just mind blowing.

Prince did 3 nights at the North Sea jazz festival in 2011 and only played ONE song TWICE. no other Artist was or is doing it like that. 3 difference experiences, no 2 shows are the same.

@TheMJCast @MariahCarey Thanks for your tireless efforts Jamon! Feels like it was yesterday that I was listening to you riffing solo for 20 minutes in the pilot episode, getting excited over the prospect of an MJ podcast. You've created an amazing body of work!

Standing ovation for @DamienShields and the entire @FakingMJpodcast team. Meticulously researched and beautifully presented. The truth is now out there, preserved as part of the historical record and accessible for generations to come. Fantastic work!

@iamslickrick_ Ultimately I just don't get the mindset here. The Estate gives you full access to the man's vault. You discover that it's pretty carefully curated and everybody tells you he wanted the world to know him through his music. Yet you decide to turn it into salacious psychoanalysis...

Giving the usual suspects too much air time. You can’t even attempt to tell HIS story with the same 10 people who weren’t regularly around him 40 years ago.

@Cameron_John Another fantastic podcast. Clear narrative arc, extremely dense in information, and chock-full of rare audio treats - all exquisitely edited together. The definitive overview of the Bad era sessions.

@Cameron_John @DCO754 The Vault is massively underrated! I actually prefer the WB 90s albums over his other output from that time. It's interesting that these throwaway records are his most cohesive of the era.

@DCO754 The Vault is a very underrated album. C&D also has a lot of great tracks.

@onir_mj @DamienShields @MorinenMJ Whatever the exact reasons, I'm sure they are sensible. It may not be the optimal outcome, but for so long it seemed like those songs would forever go down in the history books as part of his oeuvre. They're gone now, all thanks to Vera's tenacity and incredible persistence.

@onir_mj @DamienShields @MorinenMJ We'd all like that, but they'd never agree to those terms. If the option to settle and having the tracks removed was on the table versus carrying on with zero certainty of a good outcome, then settling makes sense to me. The removal of the tracks was always the main goal, right?

BREAKING: Lawyers for the Estate of Michael Jackson & Sony Music have settled the Cascio tracks fraud lawsuit after removing the three alleged forgeries from Michael Jackson’s catalog last month. Congratulations to @MorinenMJ for forcing Goliath’s hand. billboard.com/pro/michael-ja…

@TheMJCast @michaeljackson @sonymusic @EW Sad but not surprising, as it's been clear for ages that they will never learn. They do not care about the fans, they do not care about Michael the artist - they care about lining their pockets with the minimum amount of effort. Nothing will change until someone else takes over.

@Pezjax The irony is that in my experience these same people then talk about the Estate executors, who are paid millions of dollars to handle MJ's legacy, as though they're running a hobby project during weekends ("we should be grateful for anything they give us!")

Too often I see those who create in honour of Michael being accused of 'cashing in'. I'm interest to know, who should be permitted to create work that honours MJ, & how should it be financed? Should the Estate be the only ones allowed to control the narrative of his legacy?

@CEThomson @Blauxlia @TheMJAP @LeavingLie @Rosanna29585120 @kat3tj5 And he clearly was deceitful too, telling MJ that he wanted to make a doco about the effect MJ had on his fans, when he makes it clear in his book that he was hoping to speak to MJ's accusers (it's obvious that he did not simply stumble upon Terry George).

@CEThomson @Pezjax HIStory is generally dismissed by critics for not being carefree like OTW, Thriller and Bad. Ironically, the same critics tend to complain that MJ perpetually tried to recreate Thriller and never made music that was edgy and personal.

Researching for my next project & reading a review from 95 by Patrick MacDonald for HIStory - Did he actually LISTEN to the CD he was provided for review? What are these 'conclusions'?! Two of the most important songs in Jackson's catalog completely misrepresented in this review!
