The NHL and Hall of Fame retain final approval when it comes to names engraved on the Cup. So it begs the question: did the NHL approve Tom Dundon engraving the names of his wife and five children? Same goes with Panthers and Viola.

@spongebobsloth I say that because 53 of the max 55 names were used. There was a space left that could have easily gone to Jesper Fast for being on staff. My gut tells me that he wanted to earn his spot on the ice but I could be completely wrong

@spongebobsloth Gorman is on the cup for the 2006 run. Pretty sure he’s fine. I think hockey folks are a different breed who hate participation trophies. Jarvis hates his silver medal. Makes me think the guys who played this season but not in the playoffs are probably content not being on there
