📢Now published: "Carbon sequestration potential in hedgerow soils: Results from 23 sites in Germany". doi.org/10.1016/j.geod… We found a 36% increase in SOC stocks under hedgerows compared to croplands, and SOC stocks were also increased in adjacent edges and croplands. 🌿🍃🪱

What is a "good" soil carbon content? Difficult question in the context of soil health, but the soc:clay ratio might not give the answer. What if we instead use the relationship between soc and clay as the denominator in such an indicator? Happy to discuss...
