How deadly is this! In the Kimberley region of WA, local Halls Creek artist Gaven Stretch has been busy of late turning this graffiti-covered wall into a spectacular mural. Gaven's creation has only come to life with the help of young people lending a hand.

Our Blueprint for a Better Future outlines an evidence based whole-of-system approach that responds to the underlying causes of offending to reduce crime, ensures the wellbeing of children & young people, & delivers safer and better futures for our most disadvantaged communities

Alongside our 30 non-government coalition members, we began work on this pathway to reform several years ago, when it came evident that full-scale reform was needed.

- Create a whole-of-government youth justice strategy to support children and families in the community. - Create an independent inquiry that enables truth telling.

- Raise the age of criminal responsibility to at least 14 years old, to keep primary school kids in community. - Introduce a trauma-informed and therapeutic, collaborative model-of-care with community experts and Aboriginal leaders.

Yet another incredibly alarming self harm incident has occurred inside Unit 18 – where WA children are held at Casuarina maximum-security adult prison. We’re choosing not to share the details of this incident as the content revealed in The Australian is highly distressing
